Delhi House Cafe, an established name in Manchester's Corn Exchange, has expanded to Liverpool, opening its doors in September 2024 at the iconic Royal Albert Dock.

This family-owned restaurant, run by the Lamba family, brings an authentic Delhi dining experience to Merseyside with a menu curated with dishes from every corner of India.

Delhi House Cafe offers a diverse menu that blends traditional North Indian flavours with modern innovations. There is a large selection of street food dishes such as the Mutton Keema Tacos and the Bombay favourite Vada Pav Sliders made with a spiced potato vada.

Other notable dishes include their Champaran Meat—a one-pot lamb curry packed with spices and fragrance, and their Goan Prawn Curry, a chef’s favourite featuring prawns simmered in a tangy coconut sauce.

Unique items like the Butter Chicken Naan Pizza also make an appearance, reflecting the restaurant’s playful and modern take on Indian cuisine.

The restaurant, which can seat up to 120 diners, also has an eclectic cocktail menu, including signature drinks like "Love Dose" made with gin, lychee and lime, and "Go Goa Gone" made from white rum, lemongrass, and pineapple.

Speaking to Liverpool Business News, Manager Preen Lamba said “Myself and my family are from Delhi, the food capital of India and we want to transport our diners to this exciting, bustling and experiential city, delivering the most wonderful experience of modern Indian dining.

We really believe that there is a gap in the market for Indian food in Liverpool and the dishes that we’ll offer at Delhi House. Our goal is to transport our guests so that they feel as though they’re dining in a restaurant in Delhi.

We want to change the common preconception that Indian food is for hangovers, that it’s curries from a takeaway courier, or that it’s just unhealthy. True authentic Indian cuisine is so much more than that.
